We are no longer accepting donations on this campaign, but there are other ways for you to support us today!

Your gifts will be matched up to $25,000

Give to H.O.P.E.

As the COVID-19 pandemic goes on, the demand for food assistance grows. The River continues to help, but we need your support. For more Dane County families and individuals than ever before, a holiday meal may be a luxury they will not be able to afford—or even access due to safety concerns related to traveling, shopping and gathering.

This holiday season, you can Help Other People Eat by supporting The River’s H.O.P.E. Holiday Meal Drive, and other programs of The River. Thanks to a generous donor, gifts to H.O.P.E. received by Dec. 31 will be MATCHED up to $25,000!

For $50, you can provide a complete, fully prepared holiday meal for a family of five to pick up curbside from The River and simply heat and eat together at home. Each holiday meal will include turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, green bean casserole, stuffing, a roll and a dessert.

The holiday to-go meals will be distributed through our meal program, FAM (Family At-Home Meals), Monday through Wednesday before Thanksgiving and Christmas. The weeks leading up to the holidays, The River will also provide holiday grocery essentials, such as turkeys and hams, through our curbside grocery distribution.

Through this new approach, anyone in our community can safely enjoy a delicious holiday meal—even if we can’t all be together.

Thank you for considering a gift today to help make the holiday season brighter and safer for children, seniors and families struggling to make ends meet in our community.

When donating online, you might see a charge in your payment history as "Network For Good." This is the payment processing and donor management service we use to track and process payments. When selecting to "pay a transaction fee," you are allowing us to receive the full amount of your donation, then covering the cost of the fee that Network For Good charges. When declining this, you are still giving us a donation, but the fee comes out of the amount you pledge to us. Example: You donate $20 to The River. If you accept the fee, you pay $20.75. If you decline the fee, The River receives $19.25. This applies to every payment, including reoccurring payments.
